1999, with over a hundred articles published in newspapers, magazines

As well, for the business community, she writes copy for
the web, advertorials, newsletters, media releases, and advertising
brochures. She is flexible, thrives on challenge, and always
delivers her assignments on budget and on time.
Before shifting her career to writing, she
spent 17 years in the federal government. More recently, she
worked a term for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency as a Senior
Communications Officer, writing and editing a photography manual, visual
identity manual and corporate guide, and assisting with the development
of a new website and Intranet site.
Deborah brings to her work the depth of her
own experience unearthing the roots of everyday life, finding relevance
in the mundane, crafting the story, then sharing it with a wider
audience. She was chosen as Finalist in the 2007 Atlantic
Journalism Awards, Best Profile category, for her word portrait of Chuck
"The Woodchuck" Bernard.
Three of her profiles were included in a book
anthology on active seniors, and she has written for Homemakers,
Saltscapes, 50 Plus, Outdoor Canada, Nature Canada, Wildlife Canada,
Atlantic Salmon Journal, Progress, Golf Inc., Atlantic Travel Guide,
and Atlantic Co-operators, among others.
Deborah shares her golden retriever's philosophy:
the best way to truly savour life is to get down and roll in it.
