Workshop Instructor Bios
Before shifting her career to writing, she spent 17 years in the federal government, where she created and delivered a variety of instructional courses. She is well-accustomed to the woes and wiles of corporate-speak and is, consequently, a relentless supporter of Plain Everyday English. She brings to the classroom the depth of her own experience unearthing the roots of everyday life, finding relevance in the mundane, crafting the story, then getting and keeping her words in print. She was a finalist in the best profile category of the 2007 Atlantic Journalism Awards and is currently writing a biographical book on naturalist and conservationist, Mary Majka, to be published by Goose Lane Publications in Fall 2010.
